Question: Which card do you dread pulling the most?
The 7 of Cups fills me with dread because putting too much energy in a useless direction is embarrassingly difficult to halt. When I draw this card, I have over-invested my feelings in that which is not benefiting from them. I would hope not to fall in this pit, but it does happen. It embarrasses me when I put aside my good judgement and sense of balance and go overboard.
In the Thoth deck, the 7 of Cups image is yucky. Lotuses pour a deluge of green slime over open cups which repel receiving any of the mess. The green slime then inflicts itself on the ocean, which becomes nasty brown having received it. The lotuses then draw the sludge up through their stems and again attempt to fill the indignant cups. The sky above reflects nothing but grim grey all the way to the horizon. I loathe pulling this card and having to divest energy from a direction I was convinced was right. However, then I have energy to put in work that had been neglected. So, once I break through the old rut, good things are on the horizon.
