Question: Is there a card that continually stumps you and why?
The way the court cards allude to zodiac attributes and also carry the attributes of their own suit makes the interpretation more of an intellectual exercise than I would prefer. For example, the Knight of Wands falls in a zodiacal space that is partially Taurus and partially Gemini, therefore capturing a concept of “the fire aspect of Earth AND the fire aspect of air” in the same card. In my practice, I have found that my own experiences with these cards over time (I keep a frequency chart and an anecdotal log for self-readings) gives me more ability to interpret them than the knowledge behind their design. Not that the knowledge is not a base, just that it leaves a lot of room to build experiences before meaning can be reached.
